loses power on acceleration

We have a 2001 Ford F350 diesel. We are in SD and it has been consistently below zero for the last month. On one particularly cold day, the truck seemed to lose power on acceleration. Thought it gelled - added diesel 911. Changed the fuel filter. It will now start perfect, idles fine, then you try to drive it and it loses power again on acceleration. We have a Pyrometer gauge and it shows very high on acceleration. It is being kept in our garage (un heated, unfortunately) and it is plugged in constantly. It isn't warm necessarily in our garage, but warmer than outside. Any other ideas on what could be wrong? Should we try a space heater to see if it is still partially gelled? Like I said, it starts fine and idles absolutely fine. Driving is the issue..unfortunately, it does us no good just idling. Thanks very much for any assistance!!!!

Ayuh,...

My Guess is, you're not running it long enough to get above the Heat requirements to stop the Ebrv, or the Exhaust Damper from actuating...

Mine does the samething til it warms up enough,+ sometimes on short runs, when it's Cold enough out, it does it nearly All the time...

and it is plugged in constantly.
Anymore than a couple hours is a Waste of energy....

Do you mean running it long enough like idling in the driveway before we move? We can barely get around the block before it tries to stall...little leery of going any further. This is the first time this has ever happened - worked perfectly all winter last year. The very first time this happened, we let it run for 20 minutes before leaving, and ended up on the interstate going 75 miles an hour. That is when it tried to stall all of a sudden. Barely made it back...
