Okay, I'm trying to get all the kinks worked out of my truck and the 45mph rear wheel hop/vibration is the one that won't go away. It also does it some at 70-75mph, but I don't drive that speed much, so that's not as big a deal. I've replaced tires, U-joints, balanced and rotated tires, had the driveshaft rebalanced, new shocks put on, and got a tranny from BTS and still have the hop.
I've read about adding a damper to the rear of the truck which helps some, but my truck is an 01 and the tech bulletin was 05-07??
It took 3-4 years before this hop developed and now seems worse. I do think I noticed it more when I went from 265 to 285 tires. My Ford mechanic seems to not know what I'm talking about and this is past the annoying point.
Where can I find tech bulletins for an '01? Does anyone have anymore ideas? Could an axle be the problem? I do not have a carrier bearing (never had one). My truck is the extended (not crew cab) and regular (short) wheel base. Thanks for the help.
