Need Help with Oil Leak on 7.3 diesel

I have a '02 7.3 diesel and I found where the oil leak is coming from but unsure what to call the part/area. Basically it looks like a bad o-ring up line of the oil filter at the 90 degree elbow before it goes into the engine block. It is leaking at that elbow. Has anyone else had to repair this before? Would I be correct that it looks like a bad o-ring. Any one has the steps to get this fixed?

Thanks for your help!

Not exactly sure where you're talking about. Is the leak down on the driver's side by the oil filter or is it up top in the valley? A picture would sure help us help you.

If it's on the driver's side of the engine down low, it might be the oil cooler. It's the ~3" diameter cylinder that runs front to back under the exhaust manifold on that side.

If it's up in the valley, it may be an o-ring on a high presure oil line that runs from the High Pressure Oil Pump (located under the fuel filter) to each head.

Sounds like he's describing the rear cap of the oil cooler. Here's the parts you need for that job - Ford 7.3 Diesel Oil Cooler Repair Kit

Here's a link on how its done - Oil Cooler How To...since it's that time of year. - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Sorry that I did not describe it as well but yes it is what RT said--thanks for the help (link) and hope the fix isn't to difficult. Looks a little tight to get at. Let you know how it goes.

Did the fix things went well--things took longer than 45min.--more like 2 1/2 hours but relative easy to do--just a bit messy with the anti-freeze--thanks for the link!
