Oil leak ?

I have got an oil leak that has just started , I can`t really find it, but it leaks / drips from the cover that covers the torque converter. I have looked at the oil pan its self and it seams to be okay. Sometimes it leaks alot some times a little and sometimes not at all. Any input would be great!! I hate leaks!! thanks!!

Re: Oil leak ?

Turbo Pedestal Orings are probably leaking. From below look above the tranny you'll see a little wet coming down from back of the block.

Re: Oil leak ?

What Kanman says, and have you looked in the valley of the motor? If it is wet with oil from front to back, it is more likely the HPOP fittings or something on the HPOP. Check your valley, and if it is only wet on the rear half, or is dry, pursue as Kan said.
Other possible sources are the EBV actuator seeping, the oil rail plug on the back of one of the heads....
If the whole back is very wet, (oil) clean well, and look again after driving a short distance.

Re: Oil leak ?

I did check inside in the valley of the motor , like you said. I did find oil there it seamed to be in the front part of the motor. I will double check and see if it`s in the back part also. what does this mean if the turbo pedsetal orings are leaking? Turbo going bad? Or just replace the o-rings? I know here is a super dumb ? , but I want to make sure I`m on the same page as you.what is the HPOP? thanks for the great info so far!!I`m thinking your talking about a high pressure oil pump? Does mean that the pump is bad or going bad , or just needs to be repaired?

It then drips out of that little hole in the bell housing cover. That being said, the most common places for oil leaks are the HPOP hose connections, the rail plugs, the turbo pedestal seal (upper and lower) and the EBPV actuator.

Re: Oil leak ?

So instead of wasting all my time looking for the leak below, I should look inside on top of the motor? I have like 88,000 , So i`ll check the top part and see what I can find! thanks so much to all of you! I hope I can find it soon and that I can fix it! I hate leaks!!!
