My engine has developed the infamous top of engine leak (dealer fixed it about 1.5 yrs ago - now out of warranty). I have about 80k on the engine and it is 6 yrs old. I plan on doing the orings on the turbo pedestal, as I think that is where the problem lies. I will also have the HPOP orings incase the problem lies there.
Question is - what other maintenance should I do at the same time? I have read various things in my searches: Such as put in new seals, etc in the EBPV, and then some stuff about replacing the downpipe or some parts in the downpipe. If some of this stuff is easier to do when working on the turbo pedestal, then I would like to get it done all at once.
Also are there any step by step directions anywhere (with pics hopefully) on replacing the turbo pedestal orings?

Don't be surprised if it's the orange intake boots seeping a ton of CCV oil. I figured my leak was the o-rings also but it turned out to be the orange intakes. It's real hard to see but don't be surprised if your hand comes back oily from the bottom edge of those boots closest to the valley.

TheHammer69, what is entailed in fixing that intake boot? Is it simply tightening it, or replacing it with a new boot and clamps?

Well I originally just tightened the clamps but that was pretty worthless. You really need to take them off anc clean them good. But if you really wanted to do it right, this is what I bought: http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/air , scroll down the page until you see the blue boots labled: 99.5-2003 Ford performance coupler
These things are thicker and longer than the stock boots. Dave Meheen is a good guy to deal with if you buy them from him.
For sure with the pedastil off, do the Y pipes and gaskets. Some guys say that there is a Chevy manifold gasket that is thicker and wears beter, but I don't remember the details. I know that when I did my pedastil, the Y pipes were toast and so were the gaskets. When all fixed, I gained 4 lbs of boost immediately. Also, you can get a rebuilt pedastil for almost 1/2 of a new one.

Pappy19, when you say "do the y pipes" what do you mean? Replace them?
And the gaskets that you refer to, are those associated with the y pipes?
Finally, when you talk about a rebuilt pedestal, is that really needed if all you are doing is putting in the new o rings? Is there some reason why a rebuilt or new pedestal is needed? Do they wear out?
