Pennzoil

How many people have tried the pennzoil oil? I am running it right now and have over 3500 miles on it and it looks the same as when I put it in. Also the oil level is only slightly down. When I was running Rotella it would be black by now and would need to be topped off.

Re: Pennzoil

If the oil is still clean then the detergent additives aren't doing the job.
Detergents hold suspended solids in solution so if its not black with soot then where is the soot?

answer, building up inside your engine.

Re: Pennzoil

I have no comment on Penzzoil specifcally, but as for the color of oil - Meaningless.

Dark oil can mean many different things including how much detergent or additives are in the oil or how well the oil has been cleaning deposits, etc. A good oil SHOULD get dirty as it does it's thing cleaning your engine. The dispersant should stop all the gunk from depositing in the oil pan.
