If you are between year 3 and year 5 (36- 60 months) from your in-service date and under 100,000 miles you are subject to the $100 deductible at your friendly Ford Dealer. Since you can get the CPS for under $100 and its easy to change, most people don't bother with the dealer on that one.
Now if you have an unidentified electrical gremlin ( I see now you are asking about the pedal assembly) and you are still under warranty, that $100 may be money well spent (if you have a good dealer nearby). Since the pedal assembly and CPS are related to engine performance and emmissions I think these are covered under the engine warranty. Anything they find not engine related would be full buck though.
Did you change the CPS already?
Did you check for loose battery cable (particularly grounds)?
The pedal assembly has a microswitch and a rheostat I think, but don't remember which component typically fails. Its serviced as an assembly. I think the pedal throws a code more often than not.
