Ron, your problem sounds like Under Valve Cover harnesses for the injectors, especially if the check engine light came on. They can come unlatched and the electrical connection to the injectors opens. Expansion/contraction of the plastic can make the problem come and go.
The best bet is to get a scan done, which will tell you more. If it's just a UVC coming loose, it will give you a P127X code with the X being the affected cylinder. You can also try pulling off the connector on the outside of the Valve Cover while it's running badly. If there's no change in the engine, then pull that VC. If the engine dies, then it's probably the side that you DIDN'T pull the connector loose.
ChrisJohnson00TA, Your CEL probably didn't come on when you had your problem. The fuel pump system isn't monitored by the PCM except for power to the pump.
