Question: Diesel Fuel On Clutch

Hey guys and gals, need your help once more.
I had a fuel line burst while driving and didnt no until clutch started slipping from all the fuel dumping on it.
Is my clutch going to be alright once everything drys? Is there anything I can do to help the drying process or to preserve the clutch?
Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks again

No matter what, the clutch's life is probably going to be shortened. You can try spraying brake clean on the disc to get some of the fuel off of it, but won't get it all. The heat from the clutch will remove some too, but you are probably looking at a replacement sooner than normal.

I notice in your sig that you have 144k miles. Are you still on the original clutch? I bought my 2001 handshaker with 120k miles, and my 2000 was an auto, so I have no idea how long they are lasting. Obviously, depends on the driver, but what's an expected life? I went almost 200k with my Toyota's original clutch.

The person asking the question acutally has 200k+ miles on it, and if it's the original, i would look at getting a new one very soon. Depending if you are pulling any heavy loads or tryin to turn high rpm's rapidly you will probably have a little bit of slipping issues. Like RC said you'll probably have shortened the life of it significantly...
