Removal of the powersteering Pump pulley.

Ok so right now I have the 3 bolts that hold on the power steering pump loose to take off the pump and put a new one in. The 3 bolts that hold it on are backed out till they hit the pulley. I am figuring out that I have to remove the pulley before I can take off the pump? Is this the case? Can I get some help on what I need to do. THANKS I am stuck!!!

It appears that there is a Allen Wrench fillting inside the pump shaft. I am trying to turn it but it is not moving. Is it a left or right hand thread? I will keep trying!

It's not threaded I think. I believe you need to get a pulley removal kit from AutoZone, (they'll loan you one for free) It will pull off... then you have to put it on the new pump.

Right, it's a press fit. You use the tool that they will loan you for free and it acts like a bearing puller but uses a collar to hold onto the center of the pulley and push against the pump shaft.

The reverse, you screw a bolt (special one that comes in the kit) into the center of the pump shaft and use the other part of the tool kit to push the pulley back onto the shaft by tightening down the pusher on the special bolt that you threaded into the shaft. Just be sure that you get the pulley all the way onto the shaft. It may get tight once or so before the pusher completely bottoms out on the pump shaft. If that happens, just back off the pusher and see if the edge of the pump shaft is flush with the edge of the pulley. If not... keep going!
