testing batteries

Hi guys hey I was wondering if anyone knew how to quickly load test my batteries and also test my glow plugs Ford garage said they would do this for $60 for me so Im assuming it must be easy enough for me to do myself, ive got plenty of tools and willing to learn buy as of yet all ive done on the truck is change the fuel filter and oil. I have a 99 super duty with 7.3 in it thanks.

Isolate the batteries and use a load tester on each. I don't know how to test the glow plugs. My manual says that they are PCM controlled and you have to refer to the powertrain control/emissions diagnosis(PC/ED) manual to test them. Which is purchased separately. So maybe someone can chime in with more knowledge.

If you want to check the glow plugs take a look at thi thread. Hard/No Start? Check here first.

It will allow you to perform a resistance check on them and also check out the GP relay.
