For some reason the direct clutch isn't applying. It is possible that there is a stuck valve in the valve body, or a bad seal in the clutch, or the clutch is destroyed, or....

If you call John Wood, you can have your trans built & installed in 1 day. He also does a trans with a teriffic warranty at a cost of only $ 2900. Same trans as his higher cost one, but built with different converter.
Good for up to 375 hp, which was good enough for me!

I got 166K miles out of a $2K Ford rebuilt tranny. The F250 saw weekly loads of 12-18K lbs last year. Pretty sure I got my moneys worth! Towing in OD only for those miles OD is now half out but I've sneaked another 2K miles out of it but due to high fuel costs and higher than normal RPM's ready for another Ford rebuilt unit.

I am glad to hear this on the Ford rebuild. I had one installed last January only it cost me $4000. I think I got ripped on the price but it has done fine so far and has a 3 year 75,000 mile warranty.

The guy at the parts desk said the Ford remans usually get more miles than the originals. He said most rebuilds in severe duty applications go for 160K miles or more. They sell a bunch to the delivery companies and have great luck with the rebuilds. $4K seems high with labor, I was quoted $3,400 were I bought the tranny. As a roofer I found a mechanic who needed a roof when my tranny was in need of replacement. The second install will be done by my regular mechanic for around $500 in his two stall shop. He put a motor in my wifes old Bronco 5.8 for around $400 with a tune up. Guess it's nice to know people!

If you ever have an issues with that one and Ford won't take care of you or want some mods added to it call Travis in my signature.

Perfect place for a "Slap on the forehead, and "Ya coulda had a BTS" commercial!
Nearly the cost of one, for a lesser product!
I know your a ways from BTS, so shipping and install would add to it some, unless you could have done the wrenching,,,,

Only four hours, taking your time, with no lift to R&R a transmission.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
Well, I don't know why your saying that for sure,, I was talking about GLSH, or TCH,, the two posters above me,,,

Jim what's your point? GLHS said he was happy with the money he spent and was going to do it again. He paid about 1 cent per mile on that trans. I just let a fellow CO member know about an excellent trans shop in CO if he needed help or wanted to upgrade his trans.

I have 5 BTS trannies. I think Brian's track record is quite proven. It has been a well know fact for years now. Any vehicle that needs a trannie and does not get a BTS.. well the owner is just kidding him or herself. When one of there goes in you can just forget about it because it does what it is supposed to loaded or unloaded.
