Truck did not want to start this morning

Had a heck of a time starting the truck this morning. Turned over for a long time with breaks in between. It would fart and not start. Tried changing tunes on the DP and it fired a little better. Put it on 120 hp setting and it Caught a few times and died, hit the starter again and it started. Temp was -1 celcius. Didn't check oil yet. It finally started and ran fine all the way to work. Hope it startes now. Truck only sat for one day without running. Any ideas? Oh, it smoked like crazy for a minute when it did start..

Oil is important since the injectors fire off of the engine oil. Next time you let it sit for a day you might check the oil level in the HPOP to make sure it's not draining down any.

The smoke sounds like you may have a glow plug issue. Have you checked the GPR with a multi-meter to make sure it's functioning properly? I'd also get your batteries load tested to make sure they're up to snuff.
