I finally had to cave last week and bring my truck to the dealership. fortunately, it's one of the best diesel dealerships in the northeast. So far, they've had to replace the ICP sensor (which i had just replaced) and the IPR. they said the pressure regulator was maxed out to it's limit, so it had to be changed. that would explain all the ICP codes that were displayed.
at that point, the bill was around $700.
today, i find out the truck is still smoking, and "acts" like it's hydrolocked. they're going to do a compression test, but they see the problem coming from #7.
add another $380 for this mornings diagnostic and compression test...
now i'm thinking that #7 was the injector that was replaced, could an o-ring be bad, or have gotten cut as the other shop put it in? I say this becuase it would make sense that the truck is pushing white-ish blue smoke at startup, telling me theres oil leaking down on top of the piston.
I'm hoping its an o-ring and not the entire injector. $750 for the dealer to do ONE injector.
