I havnt posted here in a while, so first is a kind "hello" to everyone.
A vibration has developed in my 2000 F250. It only happens when giving light throttle. It is not present under no throttle or heavy throttle conditions. It occurs only at speeds around 25mph or 55mph.
I have checked the drive shaft. The u joints all look good and were replaced a year ago when I had it out to replace the carrier bearing. The slip joint is plenty greased because I put in a grease fitting at the time of the carrier bearing replacement.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am thinking maybe flywheel or torque converter issues. Or maybe my driveshaft is out of balance.
Was the drive shaft re-balanced when the u-joints were replaced? (I'm guessing: NOT).
Also, what brand of joints did you use? I know that the better "Spicer" joints tend to be better balanced out-of-the-box than cheaper ones (like "Neapco" brand). Also, did the shaft get "phased" correctly when the slip-joint went back together?
Does it do it in different gears ("D" vs. "OD", for example)?

I replaced the carrier bearing and u joints over 18 months ago. No problems until recently. Is it customary to get the shaft rebalanced after u joint replacement.
It only does it in the 20-30 mph and 45-55 mph ranges. Under low rpms and light throttle. Let off the pedal completely, it goes away, punch it, it goes away.
Ok, could this be a "MISS" instead of a vibration? On my early 99 I had one bad injector with very similar symptoms. Being my first diesel I didn't take it for an engine miss for a while. Just a WAG for ya. I can't see why any drive train problems would ONLY be under "Light" throttle, if something is out of balance it would happen all the time I think.
Maybe have someone do a CCT to see? (That found mine)
