Re: Wait to start light wont go out, truck wont start.....Help!

Glow plug relay sticking? Not sure,, It seems to me that the WTS light is CONTROLLED inside the PCM..and the Glow plugs can still be "HOT" with the light off... Click here,, and save this thread!! Little secrets that are REALLY HANDY! scroll down to GPR threads and it tells how to check the relay.
Really you dont need the GP system right now,,,it should start without it.
Are you sure your getting fuel? Check the level in the filter housing...or simpler...DRAIN it completely and turn the key on ,,see how fast it pumps out...BEFORE YOU DO THIS,,,if you dont already have it...the drain goes down the right side of the motor...and stops. ALOT of us have a piece of fuel line pushed up onto it,,,and ran out thru the cross member hole,,right above the axle housing. THIS way you can put a container under it and see how much you get out....also see the quality of it,, (Water...grime ect...)

Re: Wait to start light wont go out, truck wont start.....Help!

If your problem is your chip, disconnect the battery cables, remove the chip, momentarily short the battery cables together (while disconnected), reconnect the batteries and see if the Wait to Start light goes out. If it does, then more than likely you chip is causing problems.

If you do not have a code reader and you are waiting to find one, this task can be performed fairly easily to at least rule out one possible item.

Remove your chip (if you have one) and if it still does it than your pcm needs to be re-flashed or replaced.
