Been trying to figure this out for a couple months and no luck, several oppinions have been it's no big deal, nature of the beast. It still drives me nuts sometimes. I bought the truck a couple months ago and noticed this on the second day of driving. When accelerating, more noticable starting off in lower gears at slow speeds, I get jump, clunk, falling out type movement in the tranny and t-case. If your in 1st idling and give some pedel it will "clunk" and you can see the shifters move(right to left) and you can feel it in your feet. Almost like something might be slipping and then catching. It will even do sometimes in the higher gears when the turbo really kicks in. I had the mounts checked and everthing is fine, the Ford mechanic thinks it might be in the 2 piece flywheel. Any ideas. I see there are a few people from other forums that may have already answered this question, just trying it out on new people. Don't answer if you already have, thanks.

"see the shifters move" I guess you are referring to the 94' PSD as the 02' has only one shifter. I would replace the mount even though it looks ok.

If both shift handles move to the side , have another shop look at the mounts. This includes the engine and trans also look at the cross members. something is allowing engine torque to shift the assembly to the side. For BOTH handles to move, it would be the transmission moving along with the engine. Look closely at this stage the mounts may not be totally obvious. 1/4 to 1/2 inch play in the mounts can equal a inch or more at the top of the lever. Also I do not believe the 99 and up PSD have a dual mass flywheel. The clutch disk is spring dampened.
