What to buy??? - Diesel Forum

I have a 1997 F 350 and im looking at getting a new truck, i can probly only afford a 2001, im looking at a 1999 f 250, can anyone tell me the major difference in the 1999-2001's? I want extended cab and they are pretty expensive, so i found a 1999 with 54000 miles for $20,000 i didnt think that was to bad

I bought my X approx. 2.5 yrs ago it had 82K
and I paid $19.5K. So your 20K could be a little
high but it only has 54K on it thats great!
I would check to see weather its a 99 or 99.5
it makes a differance on some stuff.I think the

Do check the build date, and you might look at the archives for key differences. 99.5s changed the air intake system box, for one small example. As for price, I purchased my 2000 XLT supercab 4x2 with 71k on it [excellent condition and well-maintained], in 1/03,for around 19k. I got a good deal, I think, but all depends on the condition of the vehicle and how it has been maintained. 20k isn't too bad for a diesel with 54k miles, unusual for a six year old truck - sure it isn't 154k?

Not really.
My 01' has 27k. My 90'Bronco has 55k.
