Curious if all the 7.3's are original to the trucks...would not surprise me, even at 1.2 million. Hard to say when mine will give up the ghost...drivin it till it grenades...
When my '96 OBS was wrecked it had 663,000 miles, my wife's (same year) had about 370,000. We're divorced and I have no idea what happened to hers but when those numbers registered, they were original engines in original trucks.

Ive got a buddy that runs a big corn farm and hotshot company with his wife and a crew of ten. You 7.3 guys might like the 7.3 numbers! I quoted this off his facebook account. Note that all 6.0s have egr deletes and coolant filters except for the 05 which has head studs as well. The 6.4s and 6.7s have DPF and EGR deletes.
Quote: 2000 7.3 6speed regular cab (My Baby) with 840k, 2002 7.3 auto extended cab with 635k, 2003 6speed 7.3 crew cab with 702k, 1999 7.3 6speed crew cab (silver truck) with 1.2 million!!, 05 6.0 6speed with 459k, two 07 6.0 King Ranches, one with a 6 speed and 327k, and another with an Auto and 297k. 08 6.4 (Wifes) 6speed, 301k, 09 6.4 6speed with 350k, 09 6.4 6speed with 343k, and two 2012 6.7s with 75k and 72k and an 2011 6.7 with 121k. I know on all of em' he's done rings a couple of times because of the blowby situation getting a little serious. Plus the occasional water pump and oil pump.....the main motor itself is original from the factory. Pistons, blocks, turbos, you get the big picture.

I have yet to open up the original 7.3 at 775,000...but I can relate to the blow-by and have increasingly started using more Delo 15w-40. A 3,000 mile trip will now require up to 2 quarts added.

When I sold my 7.3 with 399,989 miles on it, It was starting to get fairly good on the blowby. I pull a 30 foot trailer with 28 3x3x8 hay bales that weigh an average of 990 pounds regularly....so I'm sure that has a major effect. lol

I get 17.0 in town, 20+ hwy, and 12.5+ towing my fifth wheel ( I can bank on an average 13.5 mpg on a long trip while towing most of the time.) I credit the mileage to my tuner. I hand calculate the mileage and don't rely on the overhead console computer.
