When my '96 OBS was wrecked it had 663,000 miles, my wife's (same year) had about 370,000. We're divorced and I have no idea what happened to hers but when those numbers registered, they were original engines in original trucks.

I know on all of em' he's done rings a couple of times because of the blowby situation getting a little serious. Plus the occasional water pump and oil pump.....the main motor itself is original from the factory. Pistons, blocks, turbos, you get the big picture.

I have yet to open up the original 7.3 at 775,000...but I can relate to the blow-by and have increasingly started using more Delo 15w-40. A 3,000 mile trip will now require up to 2 quarts added.

When I sold my 7.3 with 399,989 miles on it, It was starting to get fairly good on the blowby. I pull a 30 foot trailer with 28 3x3x8 hay bales that weigh an average of 990 pounds regularly....so I'm sure that has a major effect. lol

Early 99 F250 7.3 125k miles: Glow plugs, water pump, UVCH's, front hubs, transmission, turbo, ebp sensor and tube, cps, rotors, shocks, cac boot, up pipe gaskets etc. Starts, runs and drives fine, just wont pull my trailer more than 20 MPH up any grades.

Truck in sig at 220k: On the last leg of my 3rd stock tranny, HPOP o-rings every 70k, ball joints twice, at least a dozen rear u-joints, one center carrier, and replaced a leaky pinion shaft seal. I'm currently due for a steering box, sway bar bushings, another u-joint, and a BTS tranny.

168K- ICP sensor, Water pump, Turbo upgraded, Transmission rebuilt, CPS x 2, fan clutch, RF brake caliper, alternator x 2, ball joints, upgraded all brake rotors to Power Slot Cryo,
I get 17.0 in town, 20+ hwy, and 12.5+ towing my fifth wheel ( I can bank on an average 13.5 mpg on a long trip while towing most of the time.) I credit the mileage to my tuner. I hand calculate the mileage and don't rely on the overhead console computer.
