1st time at the track - here's the time slips

I'm #119, I've never raced on a track before so my first pass was really embarassing When I tried to watch the gauges I left after the green So I stopped trying and just power braked it and left when the 3rd yellow lit. Launched at around 2500rpm which was about 15+psi when I practiced before I got to the track. Run #5 I blew it and let off the brake too early, then re-braked, red-lighted and then left

Anyway, I could NOT break 81mph... the front drivetrain was vibrating bad, so bad I wanted to back off before the finish line. I even shifted it out of 4high, but my vacuum pump is dead so the hubs were still engaged. Twice I even held it WOT a loooooong ways past the finish line and it still barely accelerated. In 2wd this is not a problem... what you guys think? It's a tow rig, but it was fun and I'd like to go once or twice more when some of my other friends can bring their diesels too

Yeah, somethin' seems a little off for your mods. You should be seeing about mid 15's all day at around 85mph. Sounds like you had fun though.

Yeah I was at 81mph quite a ways before the finish and would stop gaining any more speed. A 2wd run off idle, counting off a 1/4 mile on the odo I'm over 85mph No SES light and I forgot the snap-on modis I'm borrowing to monitor ICP & duty cycle to see how my hpop is doing in the 120

yeah I think the most fun was the 4wd launches

It's stamped because it was an elemination round and he won. Some tracks do that. Like when you get in the money, some of them stamp a "$" on it.

Re: 1st time at the track - here's the time slips

Not too bad. The mph looks off for sure. I got the same basic truck you have , and was turning 10.12------10.10 in the 1/8 at 71 mph with nothing but a chip. No exhaust, no air filter, no nothing. Just a chip. Leaving at 2,000 plus rpm and bout 15 psi boost in 4x4. Check your fuel filter. You ever run it bone stock ? We spent several hours at the track a couple years ago running the crap out of em. Bone stock three different trucks (my 00 cc 4x4 dually, a srw lb 01 4x4, and a 01 sc 4x4 sb) all of run around 11.3 1/8 at 61--63 mph.
Mine (4.10) was 10.10's at 71 with the chip, 01 lb srw ran 10.30, 10.40 @ 68 (3.73)with tow chip, 01 srw sb sc ran 9.79 --69 mphwith the chip in hot setting. Also a 3.73 gear.
Go figure. I thought the 4.10 would help off the line, and hurt the top end, but it seemed to be pulling on top. All these were stock exhaust, stock turbo, stock everything but the chip.
Havent been since the injectors and van turbo. Cant wait!

Re: 1st time at the track - here's the time slips

Stock turbo, stock injectors, stock 3.73 gears, 35" tires and 6" of lift. SCMT MAX on the 120 setting, 10k mod run down to 3.9k, Half of an ITP regulated return system installed, IDM mod, 4" exhaust and Tymar intake and I run 15.8's at 84 in the quarter, and last time I weighed the truck, I was coming up on 8800lbs!!!!

My Hpop pressures start at 2800 and drop to 2400 and hold. With or without the 10k mod, it doesnt matter. (This is reading a second ICP I installed in the passenger head, so its not affected by the 10k mod screwing with the computer). The 10k mod just gives me better low to mid power, but does nothing for top end because I've already maxed out the pump.

I dunno ***, the truck just seemed to stop accelerating at 80ish mph I was launching hard enough to throw my head back really good, my best run:
60' - 2.095
660' - 9.983 @ 66.71mph
1/4 - 15.945 @ 81.26mph

fuel filter is less than a month old.
I just did balljoints on both sides within the last month.
I'm going to have to play around with the front end and see if I've got bad u-joints or an out of balance driveshaft... or?

anybody think basically bald tires out back and decent tires up front could be the problem?

Have you AE'd your ICP at WOT? You might be dropping down enough that you need Big Oil.. Just a thought as my top end vastly improved with my twin pumps.

With the MODIS I've tried to watch ICP and duty cycle but that's next to impossible and really dangerous On sunday I'll steal my brother from his clingy fiance and make him watch the MODIS while I open it up

In 2wd I can get over 85 in a 1/4 per the odo and over 100mph if I keep going.

Re: 1st time at the track - here's the time slips

Given you still have stock injectors, your times fit perfectly with your listed mods. IDM mod and regulated return fuel and big oil is about all that left you can do before injectors. Mid 15's is the best you could hope for currently.

Yes, my truck does the same thing. Runs good for the first half of the track, and then just kinda goes limp for the rest of the run.

Flipping the 4x4 off during the run is pointless. The system wont disengage until there is no load on the drivelines. And with your slightly mismatched tires, there is almost always gonne be a load unless its in neutral.
