it would probably be easier and cheaper to swap in a cummins with a p pump. you would have a better motor than the 6.4 and a ford with a cummins is just cool.

Yeah, I'm sure it would be much easier and cheaper to install a drive train from another manufacturer entirely...

It would be a very cool swap, because you wouldn't need the particulate filter, ect.. like the 08s and up need. You could live up the 7.3L "emission" standards and have a ball!
Good luck and keep plenty of pictures if you do this "Mod" LOL

The doors sure look to be the same from the outside. Front fenders, and hood are the only main body differences, (and tailgate) Seats wouldn't be hard to figure out. Measure the mounting holes.

Where are you getting your numbers from??? The number fairy duh?!

You can get a complete forged rod short block for $3500, a complete long block for $4000... + a few hundred for shipping....Good set of hybrid injectors at least $2300, studs $700+, valve springs $800 and turbo $1800 for another 4k.... $5600 I guess my math is different than yours but thats ok! now another 4k for a tranny Plus a core charge for the auto I don't have.... and your done. That alone is closer to $11,000, not 8k for the tranny and motor add ons.....You have your 500hp and you dont have a bastard truck that will never run... Correct, for example a DI set up w/ 500 should be do-able, a little pricy but reliable and very do-able.

5k for a 6.4 (so you say...Yes I do say, bawhahaha) Yeah, thats right!!! I did my research and found a few. another 2-3k for a tranny (all of which are used) And?? and you have what? nothing... Now you need motor mounts, Tcase mounts, PCM/ECM... Wire harnesses. labor and time to wire the dash, lights, brake systems, OBD2 ports... I can get a complete wiring harness for a few hundred. What labor? I do things myself. You would be in it over 15k before you even got started... let alone any performance things.

I guess you missed this...

Anywho, thanks to rest ya'll for the input.

you wont a A/T well i got you one..10k on it ...sittin under my truck waitin on you M/T

99 to 07 use the same seat mounts, so the holes in the floor should be the same. I put 05 buckets in my 01 with no problem

Thanks guys...this thread has been great! I mean it. I just love this kind of bouncing back and forth..as funny as it sounds I imagine a bunch of little boys sitting around a school yard with their marbles (anybody remember those?) and having a great time psyching each other out as they brag about their special super-duty steel shooter, etc. Good clean fun...I don't care who wins. Its why I get on this site for few each day.

BTW and FWIW, NEVER take any of this all too serious...in reality we're talking hunks of metal that we won't care one bit about when we're gasping for our last breath on this earth.

Just sorry I can't find that little smiling face guy who is chomping popcorn as he watches the debate build. LOL

Poppie,
Is it a requirment that when you do a cummins swap that the tires stick out too much also, just like other dodges? I mean, it's a straight 6 right? Shouldn't need to pop the wheels outboard...

.............I have no idea???,my son out in Montana told me about a shop that does the swap,I'll have to call him and get the name again,I think it cost around $8000.00 out the door but don't quote me on that price, maybe i can get him to jump in here.
