"Take into consideration the Boostmaster; I have gained about .8 MPG just with that. " Do you mean "Turbomaster?" Just checking.

But the biggest reason we get good mileage is that we are all over our trucks on maintenance and repairs. Do you have any idea on the mpg loss of just having a brake pad clip not seated correctly and the pad resting on the rotor ? Or having a U-joint not fully lubed ? I don't have any idea what the MPG cost of those items are, and I never will.
Thanks for the replies! For the 4 months I've owned this truck the best I've seen is 16.5 mph average highway driving. So I would definately like to find a way to increase that just like the O.P.

I am going to tear into the front end within the next two weeks to repair a leaking inner seal and hopefully I will also find and resolve some of mpg robbing maintainance problems as I inspect the bearings, u-joints and braking system. After that I'm hoping a 4" exhaust will add a bit to increase fuel economy.

even 16.5 is not bad. That is why I bought a diesel. my gasser trucks got 10 to 12 at best with no where nere the towing power. And when towing 8 to 10 was doing real good. A 10 k load on my old 97 f250 w a 5.7 gas and I was standing on the pedal to try to go. I wish I got 20 mpg but w a 4x4 and towing I guess I will be hapy with 14 and rolling down the interstate at 70 with plenty of pedel to go. Since I got my first powerstroke my foot dosent get sore anymore lol

Even w/ my lift/tire set up i used to ave 18 back in TX. the cold mn weather has killed my mileage so has living in a strictly city environment and a leaking hpop. w/ that fixed i hope my mileage will improve.
Use a good flowing filter and exhaust w/ a decent tuner you should be able to get upwards of 18 or so. W/ my predator i got better mileage then w/ the ts i have now. I hope to get a dp w/ some extra timing just for unloaded driving which should help mileage.
Also, there are other small things such as a 203 stat, electric fans, smooth start, coast to stop all synthetic lube and so on that might help

Almost 16 mpg on my last fill up of 2% bio at the local farm co-op. And that is winter blend biodiesel. Combined city/rural/highway living in the snowbelt with the front hubs locked and sometimes in 4x4. Like I said I am happy with that number in a 7000lb truck.

Gas Hogg

$hit, I would love a MPG or two.. I'm sittin about about an even 10. Definite trick is keeping it under 2k. if your flooring it, especially with a chip, you will see you gas gauge plunder.
