99 Super Duty

My 99 F-350 CC Diesel dually seems to be really slow compaired to my CO. truck, which is a 04 CC 4wd. Back in 2000 I added a Banks chip, air filter, muffler and tailpipe. I thought at the time it was a improvement. Where do I go from here to gain more performance? Thanks

Re: 99 Super Duty

John...welcome to the best Ford Diesel site on the 'net.

You are comparing apples to oranges. The '04 has the 6.0L engine while yours has the 7.3L. From what I hear...in stock form the 6 oh will run circles around the 7.3L.

As for performance...what type of air filter...panel or conical? Is the muffler a free flowing type or not. Have you opened up the exhaust or is it still factory? There are also a lot new programs out there to make our 99's run very strong. Several tuners come to mind like Dave at DI , Jody at DP Tuner just to name a few.

Re: 99 Super Duty

First off get rid of anything to do with banks.. The dyno on banks stuff is not worth the price.. Go with a programmer any brand cept banks. We dynoed the six gun w speed loader that claims 110 HP and we got 40 out of it.. Banks is over priced.
