Talking the diesel mod bug got you too!!!??

So, you have been bitten.

Ok, so now you want the exhaust and other mods, it's simple, it all depends on your budget, that will be the limiting factor here.

You can go w/ only a free flow muffler and leave it stock or go all out and do a complete system from the downpipe to the tip.

Magnaflow,dynomax,etc.. for mufflers are good and not too loud.

The "wicked wheel" will give more whistle but less torque I believe, most claim will help with the surging problem while towing.

I sincerely believe our trucks can use better air coming in, and more exhaust going out so you can attack both territories.

I use a S&B complete air intake kit and was impressed with how good it was and how cheap it costs.

I use magnaflow mufflers, 2 of them, 1 was still loud to my taste, 2 is just right but I run a full exhaust built by my local shop, Miami Mufflers.

Have fun, I kow I am!!

Adrian

I Use the Magnaflow Turbo back 4 inch exhaust system as well. Might want to consider a turbo housing instead of a wheel.

We have several different kits on our site from "budget" systems all the way up to the full T304 stainless kits. There are several members here who run our budget kits and are very satisfied with them. My personal favorite is MBRP. Please let me know if theres anything I can help with.

If you dont have gauges I would spend the money on that before a compresser wheel. I have a cheapy summit aluminzed system works fine.

Take a sawzall, cut the muffler out, drive to your local muffler shop and get a piece of pipe welded in, maybe a tip welded on and call it a day. My exhaust on my truck cost 75 bucks. Its not too loud unless your a puss.

Get in touch with Nate (DSTRBD) at PerformanceTruckProducts, best price I could find (and I shopped hard!) for an MBRP 409 SS turbo back system, and
it was delivered the day after I ordered! Great prices & great service

I have the MBRP in my Ex and 350. The only thing I would consider now that I have had them for a couple of years is to not go all the way to the rear of the 350 if I were to do it again.

I would think about a turbo back system but stop just after the cab and install a down pipe. Or turn the down pipe towards the passenger side of the truck to blow the exhaust that direction.

If I were concerned about exhaust in the cab I would consider "lake" pipes. They are just pipes that terminate just in front of the rear tires.

When I got mine MBRP suggested that you go with a 4" pipe for a truck under 450 HP. I do not know why. But I took their advice and went with the 4".

When I was a little guy my parents regularly had to have the exhaust pipes, mufflers, and resonators (a small muffler just in front of the rear bumper that made the car so quiet that you could not even tell if it was running) replaced because they rusted out every couple of years. I always thought it was stupid not to have stainless parts. Then, as I got older, they became stainless from the factory. And lasted forever. When I got my systems for the Ex and 350 I could not see not spending the few extra bucks for the stainless. Kind of like buying insurance. It became something I just no longer had to worry about. The stainless will probably outlast the truck.

Folks that have done that with a diesel, or aimed the exhaust out the side in front of the rear tires, soon learn that was a mistake . Your rear wheels and center cap and other shiny parts will be really black and nasty and ugly in a very few miles. So you need that tailpipe going over the rear axle, then going out the side behind the rear tires.
