Aftermarket fuel pumps

i've been looking into getting an aftermarket fuel pump for my sig truck anybody have any suggestions. I don't want to spend more than $400 but yet get something with just a little bit more punch than the stock one that i am sure is on its last leg now with almost 150,000 miles

What is wrong with your pump? I don't see the need for a high flow pump from what is in your sig. A high flow pump is not a performance upgrade in and of itself, it a supporting mod to large injectors.

Spend the time about $200 and get a Bosch electric and be done with it. Much easier to change out if you mount it under the frame. I know there will be filters, fittings and hoses, but you will be happy in the long run. They last much longer than the Aeromotive and half the price.

That is not always the case. There are plenty of Bosch 044 pumps that die and they are not diesel rated so they are not warrantied.

For the mods in the OP's sig, the stock pump is the most reliable pump he can run. Again I ask, why do you think you need a HP pump?

I'm with SE99 on this one, I don't see a "need" for a bigger fuel pump with his setup. The stock pump is a Bosch unit and is VERY reliable. I frequently recommend that customers just buy another Factory Pump (diesel rated, built specifically for Ford by Bosch) from the Ford Dealership and put it in for years of reliable service.

The only time I recommend an aftermarket pump is when there are modifications that are exceeding the flow capabilities of the stock unit.

The stock pump probably can, especially if you put on a regulated return system. (Also a stock pump is gonna cost you in the neighborhood of 300.00 from FORD!)

I am starting to have problems with my stock pump. I just bought an air dog unit. This the FS100 model. I have not installed it as of yet. I should of asked on here first and just got the factory replacement.

Be Safe

Keep in mind the airdog is a HIGH VOLUME / LOW PRESSURE fuel supply (10-20psi). You still need a pump to bring it up to 55+ psi fo fuel pressure.
