with the wastegate connected I was lucky to get 16 psi
That is exactly why I dumped my Superchips tuner. I could get 21 lbs with stock tuning, 25+ in high performance, but in tow performance and tow safe the truck could barely get out of it's own way and only 16 lbs of boost. I called SC several times and asked if this was how it was supposed to be or not. They had me send the tuner back to them for "reprogramming" which accounted for me wasting time and money for shipping as nothing changed. They told me soomething was wrong with the truck! Well something was wrong because I removed the Superchips and installed my DP-Tuner and now I get 30 psi in 80E and 26 psi in 60hp Tow. Tells you something about Superchips and there programming. If they would be honest about their product and share information as to what you should expect on a truck, I might not degrade their product to anyone who will listen!

I don't doubt that at all about Superchips. I switch in April 2006. I can't get 30psi, but I get 26 psi in both the 60T and 80E. I'm perfectly ok with those numbers to keep my turbo humming along for another 9 years.
Your pulling your turbo I hope?? It can all be done with the turbo on but the amount of time you spend messing with the little e-clip it aint worth it. All in all ATS housing and Turbo master make good boost on a stock turbo.
Yep, I have so many new parts for the turbo it has to come off, no choice there. Between the non-ebv pedestal, outlet,ATS 1.00 a/r housing,ATS ported shroud, turbo master...........the darn thing will be off for a while LOL

Mine runs fine with Superchips, almost better than SCT. At least the shifting is not all screwed up, it still runs strong for a tow-perf setting.
I agree with the lower EGT's part, rather keep this baby running for decades than be hauling butt around town and only last a year or 2....I will have to try DP one day, seems like us 7.3 guys just gotta have it!!

The E clip on the turbo master was a total PITA...
The housing can be changed rather quickly, but when it comes to putting the e clip back on you will need Beer, band aids,a hanger, potato, duct tape, sledge hammer and no kids anywhere around to hear all the foul words that will be coming out of your mouth after you try for the 986th time to put that damn clip back on.
We can put a man on the moon but Ford can't give you another inch of clearance between the wastegate and the firewall........geeezzzz
Seriously, I tried for hours and couldn't get it, grabbed the wifes makeup mirror to see the back of the turbo and slid that little sucker on.
Ford just wants you to lift the body off the frame when you need that extra inch of space. (Insert sarcasm!!)
Cool thread. Cool video a couple pages back. Does the CFM intake help much??
I guess I better order a housing. With a superchip and an Edge Attitude(that just took a crap on me btw), I get a good amount of surge going up a pass. Throttle jockey to rid right now.

Reason: Edge Attitude instead of Evolution

CFM helped, I checked the temperature of the inlet after a long drive, the red intake was cool, the polished one from the turbo of course was hot as hell, separating them can only be good for cooler air feeding the engine.
The red piece is not made out of aluminum but a very light composite material, since it is cool air I suppose it doesn't need to be aluminum like the one connected to the turbo.
I am installing my CCV delete and my S&B CAI and my boost fooler, I also removed the foil around the IC pipe and painted it w/ a ceramic coating spray paint, it will probably be louder now....it will give some attitude to my Midnight Xpress
