banks power pack HELP

Just installed banks power pack except the ottomind . I took it for a test run and very little power . Is this because of the ottomind not installed or something else. I thought i would be able to do this job but 3 days into it and I'm at witts end. Also the pyrometer is not working. I hooked it in line without drilling the air manifold I don't know the directions were poor to say the least. I know I am rambling but if anybody can help. I would appreciate it.

sorry you learned the haed way, but Banks products are very overrated, I will go on record as far and say Banks Sucks. I guess that "ottomind" may help, thats their "chip" correct? but you best be would be to get a DP Tuner. sorry....

It is because of something else. It should have the same power as stock without the chip installed. I'm not sure what you did with the pyro but it should go it the exhaust manifold. Where did you get your instructions? All the instruction's I've seen are very clear.

If the hose from the manifold to the map sensor isn't connected, you won't have any power.

if everything is not hooked in right the banks kit will not en-gauge any additional fueling.
it has a saftey that the truck has to be warmed up before it fuels...it does it by the pyrometer amongst other sensors prob boost too. if that isn't installed right it no worky...

sounds like you may have a boost leak

double check all your IC clamps and make sure they are tight, check the clamps and boots on the intake manifold.
did you put the red hose back on your waste gate?

is there a kink in the boost line going into the cab?

Amen to that. When my boost hose blew off my inline T fitting to the MAP sensor after installing my DP-Tuner, I lost almost all power.

Check it 1st.

I used the map line for the boost . I thought I had all the clamps tight, but I'll check them in the morning. I rechecked the boost line through out the truck and in the cab seems ok.

He said the part that adds fuel hasn't been installed. He also said he is using a Power Pack.

You could have kinked the boost line....?? You might want to check that...

One more thing is if you took it out for a drive or just went around the block... you won't see hardly any boost at all until you get on it..

The biggest problem was buying the Banks Power Pack, sorry, for bashing, but it isnt the best setup to get if u want power. U will see an improvement over stock, and u will like it. But u really need to look at getting a DP-Tuner, Tony Wildman or TS Performance chip. Most likely u have a kinked boost line, so check it out like everyone said. Good luck

The only thing that Banks does on the 7.3 for safety is not fuel the truck... Junk tuning...

Nothing has changed from the stock fueling tables, until EOT is up your power is down with any chip.

Your banks gauge, what "map" line did you hook it up to?
