Re: can someone tell me the difference between DP-tuner 80e and 80t

I have both the 80 Tow and 80 Econo burns. I'm running an automatic tranny and the only difference I can feel when driving is the TC locks up quicker with the econo setting. If I'm driving around town I keep it in tow due to the fact I can't get the tranny to go into overdrive in the econo settings at lower speeds say 25-50 mph.

I've experienced the same thing between the 60T vs. 80E. The 60T upshifts are more delayed and the power is built slower. The 80E is snappy off the line and the tranny upshifts to OD as soon as possible. I've wondered if the 80T is worth the $45 to get a copy emailed to me from Jody. I don't do enough on-the-highway driving to notice any mileage differences.

Re: can someone tell me the difference between DP-tuner 80e and 80t

To clydesdale:

I have the 80t and stock exhaust. I haven't been able to get it to 1200deg yet. It's been close, 1150deg but not that preverbial 1200deg. I towed about 6k through the Chatanoga mountains and was just fine. I liked the power.

ps, I'll admit when I was wrong or mistaken. I guess my comment on power at lower rpms on the 80t was wrong. Sorry, just going from memory. They say when you get old you start loosing something.... I just can't remember what it was. Wait, I'm only 27... oh crap.

Are you saying that you don't think the power comes on at lower rpms with the 80t?

Re: can someone tell me the difference between DP-tuner 80e and 80t

If what they are saying about the fuel not coming on as strong at lower rpms to control the egts then I (mistakenly perhaps) am understanding that to mean the power comes on slower in the tow tune would give the impression that it has less power.

In a case where the engine is at a constant rpm, the engine with an 80e program will have the same power as the 80t just not as quickly. This is now how I see the difference. And to be honist, if I really, really wanted to I'd call Jody. However, I'm having fun just speculating and seeing how many people put in their opinion.

Re: can someone tell me the difference between DP-tuner 80e and 80t

Well I added the 80t to my package and I will let you all know first hand shortly. So I will be going with no start, stock, 40t 60t 80t and 80e. Granted I probably will only use two programs on a regular basis, but I want to be able to see which one I like.

Diggin this up from cpl years ago.
Just my $.02 worth here.......but I have the F6 and I suppose the latest "canned" version fo the 80t & 80e (see sig.......along w/ other tunes)

I have an older style wheel in my turbo (wicked wheel) along w/ a wastegate controller....again see sig.

Here's what I've found:
the 80e I'm running is what I would call snappy but not to the point of being annoying...it's just PERFECT
my 60t & 80t tunes on the other hand are just dogs.....plain and simple. Absolutely no get up & go. HUGE difference in power between my 80e and 80t. (again, I suspect my wheel plays a role in overal less snap than the stock wheel, but main point here is the amazing pwr dif in the 2)
Jody's reworking my 60 & 80 tow settings as we speak (hopefully I'll get the snappy-power of a 80e or 120 race combined w/ towing shift patterns) so I'm guessing he'll be dumping more fuel at throttle tip-in to give me more SNAP in the tow settings......which is what I like. I like very sensitive and snappy throttle for towing, and less for empty.
Just the way I like it....I"m sure everyone has various opinions of what is "best" for them.
