Common rail for 7.3???

This may be the dummest question ever but i want to know because I've never heard of one but has anyone ever thought to retrofit a common rail fuel system onto a 7.3?
I keep hearing about how much better the common rail is and that the 7.3/6.0 HEUI system is it's drawback. I'm sure a whole new computer would have to be engineered but it's not that hard for some of these companies that specialize in that stuff.
What do you guys think?

The HEUI and common rail systems are not that far apart actually. The main difference is just what applies the fuel pressure. Although both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. I am fairly sure you are not the first person to think of applying a common rail system to the power stroke. Especially given the 6.4 is common rail. I suppose it could be done to a 7.3 or 6.0 but i am not sure the work involved would warrant the power increase.

Double the power is not worth it for someone looking to go extreme?

Yes it can be and has been done by a few people....like I said, visit the other site mentioned and look it up...there is tons of good info over there about it.

I'm on the wrong site??? I thought this was the 7.3 liter power stroke upgrades page?
Just kidding man. There's enough people that visit this board, I just wanted to see if it was a stupid thought but apparently it's not. I thought the main drawback to the poawerstrokes....especially the 7.3 was it's fuel delivery system, the common rail is supposed to be the best way to deliver fuel. I would love to see what a 7.3 could do with a common rail set up and big injectors with some tuning.
