Couple of questions for my 7.3

I have a 4inch MBRP exhaust with AFE air filter and a superchips tuner.
Someone broke into my excursion and stole a ton of stuff one of the items being my superchip control, now my truck is stuck in the High perf tow mode. I know i have to buy a new tuner but what do i do about the tune that is stuck in there? My factory tune was in the Superchip control. I'd like a better tuner anyway but I would have rather done it on my terms. I do a lot of heavy towing and snow plowing so i need a tuner that has a setting for that but i don't want it stuck in tow mode all the time. Can i just use "tow mode" as my factory setting on my next tuner or will that create an issue?
also, what would be the best tuner to get so i could have a good tow setting as well as a good performance? I'm not trying to spend $1000 dollars, I'd like to buy something in the $400 range.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Call Jody or Diane at
and they'll give you the straight scoop.

My guess it they will use your current tow program as your default "stock" tune. Then they would include a good stock tune along with two other tunes of your choice in the SCT programmer/tuner they sell.

Or an alternative is you send your main computer (PCM) to them, and they will flash it with a good stock tune. Then your programmer could have any three other tunes on it.

Or if you go to a chip instead of a programmer, they would include a good stock tune as well as one or more tunes of your choice on the chip. With a chip and enough money, you can have several different tunes, including exhaust brake and high idle.

the same thing happened to my truck, so i dont need to get my PCM reflashed to get the DP tunes? they can just put a good stock tune on that and not stack any other tune on top of the superchips tune?

Talk to Dianne or Jody about the exact steps required. But I'm pretty sure Jody can set you up with tunes that will override (not stack) the hot-rod tune in your PCM.

But the best way is to send your PCM to DP-Tuner and let Jody reflash it with a good stock tune that will work best with his hot-rod tunes. Of course that means your truck will be down and out for at least a few days while the UPS man does his thing.
