This is a CLASSIC sympton of not enough HPO. Don't blame defueling...your ICP is dropping off. I bet if you pulled codes, you have the 1211 hiding in your PCM.

Couldn't this also be caused by overboost? If I turn the chip back to the 80 settings, the SES goes off. But back in stock, it stays on until I cycle the key...

Re: DieselSite vs. DP Tuner

If its an overboost code, it will clear fairly quickly once you return the boost to normal driving. It doesn't take a cycle of the switch to clear either codes, however the ICP code will take much longer to "reset" after the truck has been run back within the parameters.

I know he should be having a slightly used Diesel Site BRV+ sitting on his doorstep today. If his problems are from overboost, we will know shortly.

Re: DieselSite vs. DP Tuner

[ QUOTE ]
Do you have stock injectors? If so I don't see a reason for a 6 position chip. And what programs are put on by the dieselsite? If there are six programs like:
1) Stock
2) 50
3) 75
4) 100
5) Extreme
6) High Idle

I only see 4 programs as I don't consider stock or high idle a program.

Bob is great from all I hear and he sells great stuff but he doesn't specialize in tuning like Tony Wildman and Jody. The bonus about Tony is he will not charge you to reburn a program and he does the custom tuning.

The most bang for your buck is going to be a 4 position from Tony or Jody. Ya get whatcha pay for.

[ QUOTE ]
I have always been on the DP Tuner bandwagon and know a lot about Jody's chips and how good they are.

[/ QUOTE ] Why are you even considering if you are soo happy?

[/ QUOTE ]

Im just saying that I have heard great things about Jody's chips and his products and talked to him a few times...but then I found this chip from Bob at DieselSite. Its called comparison shopping dude. Im seeing what else is out there, which is why I was asking questions on it. Regardless, I already bought the chip from Bob and Im sure I will love it since Dennis (TSP) writes the chips. I got the 6 pos chip because I want the 4 power gain modes, and want to have stock for certain applications, and high idle for when its cold outside. Lastly, I plan on using the chip to its full potential as I get more and more mods. Theres no point in getting a smaller config now, just to have to upgrade later. I will post when I get the chip in and see how it does with my current mods. Haha..as long as I can beat my buddy with his Cummins...damned Dodge.

Re: DieselSite vs. DP Tuner

After finishing all of my mods, I couldnt be happier with the drivability and power gains from the DieselSite chip, combined with my other light mods. Only issue that I am now noticing (after the high performance turbo wheel and exhaust install) is a slight noise at idle. The sound is tough to desribe, except that it makes the sound when your not quite all the way on the brakes (from a stop) and the truck is very slightly crawling forward. That low pitch "brake rotors slipping through the pads" kind of sound. Hopefully you know what Im getting at. Anyways, I havent been able to determine the problem, if there even is any, but I do know that it goes away quickly as the engine speed is brought up or like once Im in gear and moving. Any ideas or anything? I checked all endplay of turbo wheel stem, etc upon reassembly. Everything is back together properly and tight. Thanks.
