DP Tuner with Drive Thru

I was looking to get a DP tuner for my 2002 7.3 and was interested in the drive thru setting. I was just curious as to how it works and if you can drive a slow speed with it on? thanks

I have it, and don't like it. Yes, quieter, but you can only leave it there for 10 or 20 seconds before it starts smoking and smelling real funky. No way can you drive the truck with it.

I have it and I LIKE it! I only use it when placing my order; then I turn it off and drive up to the window. It works great. No, you can not drive around with it on.

The very first time I used it was at Wendy's. When I pulled up to the Pay Window, the Girl said, "Wow, I can't believe that I could hear you over that diesel engine". I replied, "Yeah, I have a way to make it quiet."

I use it all the time. I do not have to kill the motor anymore when placing an order. Other people in the Truck think its cool also.

i to like it and i leave mine on from the start to the finish of drive thru and when i wont to drive thru camp grounds quiet

i have not towed with it on

but i have drove in the neighborhood and it quiet but not at all powerful

They must have made some changes between your "drive thru" tune and what they're selling now.
Driving with it is out of the question. Contemplating towing with it defies reality. And leaving it on from start to finish at the drive through would get you arrested for the copious amounts of funky smelling smoke you're flooding everyone behind you with.

I'd like to hear more people that have it. Maybe mine is the odd duck. I've had the drive thru setting for about a month.

I have it, and it doesn't really work. It idles my truck down some, but doesn't quieten it up that much. CSIPSD I think had a video of his truck with it and it worked great, huge difference. I have no idea why mine doesn't work that well though. I turned my chip to it one time by accident while driving and the truck drove fine, just sounded funny and was weak.

i think its your injectors !!

jody told me with there truck he has to defuel it alot because of his injectors

i have only had my dp for 4 months


but ya i can drive with it ! no balls at all i think is shuts down a couple of cylinders but it sounds like you have lope idle


i hope i don't have to pay for all new tunes when i get stage 2 injectors????

If you're going from split to single shots you've pretty much got to. Otherwise you don't have to, but you're not getting all you can out of your injectors at all unless you do.

I believe the price is lower if you have to re-do the tunes compared to new tunes.
