Re: Dumb Question...... What is shift flare ???????

Watch your RPMS when shifting from second to third and third to fourth. You will see the shift and then watch the rpms slowly drop until the TC lockup fully occurs. It is about a 3-400 rpm swing. You are still accelerating, but the TC lockup disks are slipping and creating heat, all the while wasting fuel.

Re: Dumb Question...... What is shift flare ???????

Shift flare is when the RPM briefly increases on an upshift. RPMs should always decrease on an upshift.
