Early 99 Turbo Options

Well it's been awhile since I have posted a question... so here it goes.

I am currently getting ready to do another tour in the desert and figured i would do a little traveling before I take off for the big sand box. My truck performs fairly well double pulling a 5 er with an atv trailer on the back.

What are my options as far as turbo upgrades ? I hear a lot of good things about Beans Dominator 66. From my understanding that is pretty much the only drop in option for the Early 99 ? Would I see a big improvement in performance for the 1450.00 price tag ?

Anyone out there have any experience with the D66? Anyone out there know any other options ? Anyone have an Dominator 66 they would like to sell? I know i am fishing now!!! LOL ! Thanks for your time!

Great upgrade, esp when used with a custom chip...your SC leaves alot to be desired.

For the price you'd probably see more going to a DP Tuner chip or similar like Caryt above said. You might really want to look into switching out the whole turbo setup to the later 99 and up system and getting a turbo for that setup.

I tried Garret's bal-bearing tubro on my early '99...WASTE OF MONEY! BD uninstalled it soon after. The parameters on the early '99 are different than late '99+. Jody @ DP Tuner has told me he can rewrite the programming and make it comporable or better than later models. You just need to swap out everything that makes it an early '99 (heater plug, manifolds, intake, etc.).

Turbo hasn't anything to do with the PCM differences...programing isn't going to change the limitations of the early 99 PCM.

A D66 is a great option and a great bang for the buck.
