Crankcase Vent Mod (CCV) - Doesn't help your motor per se, but will help your stock boots last longer.
Runs the hose the currently runs from driver's valve cover to your intake, to the rear of the vehicle, preventing sloppy oil mist from entering your intake tract.
Always check your differentials and transfer case fluid levels. Do it often and do it yourself.

I got rid of my silly 6" exhaust stack in the bed and installed a thrush turbo w/side dump exhaust. The thrush gave it a little too much hush. Pro comp 6" suspension lift. Got a Meyer 7.5 foot snow plow, a flipper style gooseneck hitch, a cushion ride tag hitch and a 21,000lb fifth wheel hitch.
I'm still new at the diesel thing, but I've also caught the PMS bug sinse I retired from racing. One thing I always do is add a fuel additive. Normally the grey bottle of Powersource. The Nov 2009 issue of DIESELPOWER magazine has a good article in it! The new low sulfur diesel is lacking!

I have seen a lot of comments on the K&N, but none on the Airraid. Are they the same? Mine had an Airraid on it when I bought it, it now has the AIS. When I looked at my turbo wheel it looked pretty good, blades all straight, clean and shiney, no pits or rounded edges. I still feel better with the AIS. I get the same power, but I do miss the WOOOOOOOOOOOOOM I'd get with the Airraid!

It really depends on the road conditions you drive on. If it just staight highway or city asfault a open element air cleaner could ?? be fine, BUT if you have any dirt or gravel roads that you stir up dust a closed airbox system like the AIS is BEST. Just look at your engine compartment, is it dirty well all that type of dirt is being sucked by you filter. A closed system sucks from you front grille area which tends to have cleaner air even on dirt roads As long as your leading and not in second place.
