Fuel Mileage with 10K Mod

Do most people see an increase or decrease in Hwy fuel mileage with the 10K mod? I see that some people are taking them back off, but I can't find the reason. I am getting ready to take a 2000 mile trip and will be towing 8K. Need to know whether to take the 10K off or not. Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel Mileage with 10K Mod

The 10K as it stands, causes rough idle. Also, most people that add tuners or chips, tend to remove it as the 10K can impact your over all power and cuase you to loose some.

The 18K w/TPS (click in my signature) option on the other hand is adjutable and has no rough idle. It allows you to tune to your needs and mods.

Re: Fuel Mileage with 10K Mod

If you have ZERO other horespower mods, then leave the 10k in place. If you have a tuner/chip, then the 10k mod may already be redundant, as many other HP mods now mess with the ICP via software, the way to 10k mod messes with it via hardware.

Re: Fuel Mileage with 10K Mod

Truck is stock other than a home made Tymar and muffler delete. Thanks for the replies. I will leave it in.
