Make turbos a sticky is a good move. At least it will prevent the oppurtunity of someone bashing whether it happens or not

nice idea but a waste of time,
new users come and go they will always post new questions , cause it is new to them.
often they don't know how to do a search,
or the search engine sucks , and gives them a list with every user that has that item on their truck.

I dare say most FAQ's don't get read anyway, or get read latter when a user has gotten more comfortable with the site.

SO it is up to US the more experienced users to suck it up and answer responsibly , with out the p-matches nobody, likes or benefits from.

Ok I'm going to try something I hope I don't get my head wacked off.

Joe when you had your garret bb did you have 37 on your truck? I been doing a little research in this. I don't understand why I don't have surge Could it be I have a manual trans? I have pulled big loads all over the us no surge.

I'm just thinking here since i have 4.10or 4.11 can't rember right now with a 6 speed that i'm out of the surge zone? For me to drop down to the 1600rpm zone I'm going to slow i never have tryed it .
Now my 97 has 3.55 I have not pulled as much with it with the bb but on flat ground it's not doing any thing but I also have 235 on it. Me and tom S have been talking about this.
If you look every one that has surge has a auto that i have found maybe it don't make a diference but it might? You have any ideas? I know joeys truck has a woushing sound when it shifted with the bb

I was doing some reading about the turbomaster wastegate and they seemed to say part of the surge problem could be the way the PCM tries to regulate the stock wastegate, where it actually starts to flutter just like the surge and initiates surge. Any thoughts on that?

I haven't actually stuck my head around the turbo yet but can you mod the wastegate arm to be longer where the actuator attaches to it? Or add a spring to firm it up?

On an otherwise stock motor (except for my tymar - no big deal) what's the max boost you see if you disconnect the air line to the wastegate? Can you run with it disconnected without hurting anything? I'm getting 15-16lbs max now. I have the boost fooler on the map sensor. Shouldn't set any codes right?

I'm a newb on this so don't flame my stupidity! LOL

When I had my stock turbo, I would see as much as 25-27 lbs with a DP tuner chip.. You'll need to add more fuel to get more boost. That can be accomplished via tuning (a chip) or larger injectors..

As far as running with the wastegate line disconnected, yes that is perfectly fine and many people do it (I did too).

You should not see any codes with a boost fooler, but if you are only getting 15-16 lbs of boost, you shouldn't set any codes anyway.

If he is seeing 15-16 psi in boost, he probably has some boost leaks somewhere. What do your boots look like, are they coated with oil and dirt?? If so, i would replace them

The boots are pretty greasy. I've checked all of the clamps for tightness and everything seems tight. Who makes the best boots for the $ ? What should I be seeing for boost with no chip?

I only installed the boost fooler as it wasn't too expensive and added it to my order of parts hoping the wife wouldn't notice. LOL It's for future tuner mods.

Go to Dieselsite.com and get a set of their boots. Kinda pricey, but well worth it. My boots have never been so clean. U wont be disappointed in those boots at all.

Just finished a good hwy run without the boost tube connected to the wastegate. I saw 20-21psi. So it's all good. Going to leave it till I get a dp tuner.
