Help eliminate nuisance P1249 code

7.3L in 2002 Excursion. Garrett GTP38R turbo, single shot AC injectors.

Truck is running great, there is a boost relief valve installed before the MAP sensor so this is NOT and overboost code.

Every time I get on the throttle it sets a P1249 Wastegate control code and turns on the CE light. I can reset it and it stays gone until next time .....

Is there a way to be rid of the code permanently? I do not believe the ECU has control of the wastegate on the GTP38R turbo. I do not get the P0234 overboost code, and the ECU does not defuel. Runs great even when the code pops up. The light is a nuisance and would like to be rid of it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

What sort of regulator do you have in the map line?

Some custom tuners don't use the map, some do. Who's tunes?

Is the red line still plugged in to the wastegate? Try unplugging and capping it.

I have the dieselsite boost relief valve. It got rid of the P0234 code and the engine defueling it caused. My tune is by Diesel Innovations and I do plan to get with David on Monday about it just hard to take time off from work and make yet another trip to Brenham if its a small thing I could correct myself. Will check the red line to the wastegate controller.

You might need innovative to adjust the tune so it doesn't get thrown.
