How to black smoke

Just got my first diesel 7.3. Just got a straight pipe with a 5" tip on it. I'm not ready to drop the money for a chip yet but i was wanting to know if there was any tuning i could do so i could make it black smoke.

There are so called smoke switches. But some people feel different about these. Take for instance the ricer scene.....it was there own world until Fast and the Furious, and then every stupid foreign car had one of those stupid sounding exhausts on it! Just warning you there may be some criticism for what your looking for. I personally don't have a problem with it.

You might want to look on google and youtube. I have a pure stock 02 7.3l with a AIS intake and it'll blow some smoke under some good go go pedal!

Unfortunately in these days of tightening EPA regulations beware of what you do because it can effect us all. Think of us desiel truck owners as a group rather than individuals. Some things that we used to do were alright and nobody cared, well those days seem to be gone.

Black smoke is just wasted fuel out the tail pipe. Yeah it may look cool for a while, but it's going to hit you hard in the pocket book when your fuel consumption goes south on you.
