HPOP guage help

So I have installed a dipricol optix high preasure oil gauge and want to know if mine works like everybody elses or if there is something wrong with my truck. I installed it to see what my preasures are to judge whether I need a adrenaline pump or not.

When I turn the truck off the needle stays where it was when turned off. Then when I turn on the key it drops to 0. It doesnt read preasure when cranking but does when the truck starts. It also takes about 3 to 4 seconds before it reads.

as I am typing this it dawns on me that I probably have it wired to a dead while cranking 12v wire behind the dashboard. If it was hot while cranking then maybe it would read cranking preasures.

The other question is as my truck warms up and the oil becomes warmer it is idling with 500 psi of hpop. this seems low to me. I would like to know what preasures everybody else has on there gauges while idling. Any help would be great. as I am using this to figure out a hot start issue with the truck. I think I may have a ipr problem but when I change it I want to be able see a differance in the preasures.

okay so I have done soom driving with the gauge installed and here is what I have.500 psi any time its Idleing. Can get a max psi of 2800 psi when at full throttle. Thats with the chip and without it. I tried it both ways. Without it it spikes right to 2800 psi. With the chip it spikes to 2500 then slowly climbs to 2800 maybe 2900. These where all short romps on a back street. I have not hit the highway yet to see if it will hold psi. is that something I need to do? Thanks for any help. What do other peoples trucks idle at for preasures?

Pressures are normal. Idle should be 400-500 psi. 3000 rpm no load about 1200-1400 psi. Max full load 2800-3000 psi

Thanks for the info. Does anybody have anything on how my gauge is working. Does yours take 3 to 5 seconds to move after the truck is running?

wait for the guage to go back to zero before you start the truck ,takes acouple of seconds then the gauge works fine. you will see the psi increase when you start the truck and should fire ~500 psi
