Upgrades and Aftermarket - 7.3L EngineUpgrading and adding aftermarket equipment to your 1999-Up Super Duty or Excursion with 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 7.3L Power Stroke engine.
I have had no luck searching past posts finding where to get the IH uppipes. (I know you can get other aftermarket ones from DI and Black Widow.) My IH dealer said he needs the torque and Hp rating off my engine sticker which is of course no longer legible. The Ford dealer never heard of the new up pipes And can't get me the numbers I need off the VIN. Can anyone help?

Thanks much--how difficult is it to change these out with the tranny in place. I'm guessing there is a link for that somewhere also that I am just not typing in the right combination of words.

Welcome to Pocket's International UP-Pipe Replacement Web Page
This should help. I also removed the up-pipe and the turbo for other mods at the same time. I would pb blast the 4 bolts on the manifold and try to get them out in one piece. If not, you can cut them and then punch the bolts through, as they are not threaded into the manifolds or up-pipes. But I still had two that were cut and still seized inside. They would not pop through, even with heat and banging. I ended up purchasing a carbide bur for an air grinder. It worked awesome.

Very good--thanks much.
PS What is the benefit of ceramic coated up pipes over the non coated. (For the average guy like me just pulling a horse trailer.)

The idea is that it is supposed to retain heat better and therefore get more heat gasses up to the turbo and hopefully get better spool up. I added a new exhaust and some other goodies at the same time so I am not sure whether it helped or not. But, they look great, won't corrode, may help performance, cost an additional $125 ish, were done by jet-hot coatings, and the outside of the pipes will stay cooler. If you are not doing any other performance stuff then it may not be worth it. My thought was, I had already spent a lot of cash and said "hey, for 125, I'll try it".
