ok guys need your advice again....not sure what i should do....

ok well i made the mistake of having my diesel shop install my brandnew DP Tuner...and suprise suprise they fried my PCM, they say they installed the chip and ran the truck and ran fine... I have not had anyother problem with this shop and have been going here for years...I talked to Jody and he said the only way to fry the PCM is if the shop installed the chip wrong, and left the key in the ignition, which he clearly says NOT to do....anyways i got a new PCM put in, and my mechanic is trying to talk me into buying a Banks Programmer with 3 programs in it ( the kind you plug in to change programs) anyways im kinda torn between getting the Banks or installing my Dp Tuner myself??? i just want a lil added HP for when i tow....Im sending the chip back to jody this week to make sure its not fried as well. so do you think i should keep the DP or go banks..i dont want to fry another PCM .....all of your thoughts and opinions are really appreciated guys, thanks!

Nick

PS....yes i know the DP tuner is a easy install but i had the truck in the shop for some annual maintenece so i figured id have them throw it in.....bad idea!!

I think your mechanic helped you enough. I would stick with the DP tuner and install it yourself it's easy. The directions are pretty SIMPLE to follow IF you can follow simple directions unlike some people..

I have the DP-Tuner and the Banks chip. The Banks keeps things like TC lock up and shift points about the same as stock settings. Jody changes all that stuff in his programs. I like my Banks chip, but I think I like the DP-Tuner better. If I want to change tunes, I just push a button and voiala, different tune. And best of all Jody has excellent customer service. Can't beat that.

stick with the dp tuner. maybe some peeps in your area could drink beeres and help, guide, you through the install. its easy, just follow the directions and go slow. this is no place to get all rammy or flustered. just easy does it, one step at a time and its done.
