Is the Preston Flush/Fill Kit safe to remain installed

? The cap is just a hose bid PVC cap with a rubber gasket. If it is, it could also be used to connect a coolant filter instead cutting another hose or using the thermostate plug. Anyone have any problems leaving it installed?

The nice thing about connecting the return line to the overflow bottle is you can see the flow coming from the filter. If the flow slows way down you know your filter needs changing . IMO I'd rather not leave flush kit in, I've seen them leak over time.

I'd rather remove it and install a regular hose Tee in it's place to connect the filter to.

My Prestone coolant flush tee has been installed for about 8 years and three or four coolant flushes. The only problem with that is the double-female connector you need to screw on a garden hose gets misplaced, and you have to buy a new kit just to have that connector.

I keep mine in my tool box but I may need a new one anyway. The one I have might be 30 years old. I also use a hose extension so I don't have to have that double sided connector spraying water under the hood. I probably won't use it when I flush my truck anyway.
