Programmer Help

Ok so this may sound a bit odd but... I purchased my truck (1997 F350) used and was told that it has been chipped which leads to my questions.

1. How can I tell if it really has been chipped or not?
2. Is there anybody around the Seattle area with a programmer that can take a look at my truck and give me an idea what the setting are? I would really like to know if I could get a bit better mileage out of it.

Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

To see if it has a chip in it, you will need to remove the emergency brake bracket and pull it aside and look at the pcm, if there is a chip there it will be obvious.

Here is a detailed article on how to install a chip, just follow the part about the e-brake and you'll be able to tell.
