Sonnax

Sonnax...I did the MOD!!! And boy am I glad I did. My 01 Ex was shifting so soft I was thinking I had a slippin clutch at times. The mod doesnt give it a BIG BANG of a shift. But a very nice positive shift! Again, thanks to the people over at Black Cloud Diesel for the fast shipment of the MOD. I will be buyin another for my 99.

Thanks Again!!! This is one MOD NOT TO DO WITHOUT!!!

Re: Sonnax

Best and one of the cheapest mods you can do to the truck.

Re: Sonnax

I just did the sonnax install last Thursday I was using the Banks transcommand. My first trip down the road I still had the transcommand operational just to see how it would shift under normal accel the trans shifted quick not too harsh. On my return trip I put the pedal down and man it shifted QUICK I still wouldn't call it too harsh.
I then used the transcommand bypass plug and did the same runs I can honestly say the sonnax is far better then the transcommand. I also have to say thanks to Black Cloud Diesel for there fast service.
Now I have to install my ATS compressor housing I also did the 203 thermostat with the dieselsite billet thermostat housing.
Sorry for being long whinded. Dave

Re: Sonnax

i would say the sonnax mod is one of my favorites too. it does seem harsh sometimes at just the right amount of throttle.

Re: Sonnax

I second the notion that the Sonnax is much better than the Transcommand.I replaced it with the Sonnax and like all the shifts much better. The Sonnax kit just seems to make the truck feel faster.

Re: Sonnax

Yep. count me in as one of those who's VERY impressed with the Sonnax, as well as Black Cloud Diesel. Should have done this mod a long time ago!

Re: Sonnax

I also am very happy with this set up. I installed it on saturday and was plesantly suprized with the result. I may even go with the .500" valve insead of the .437 or whatever came with the kit.

Those of you that run a chip with this, how are the shifts, and do you think the line pressure is to high with the chip and sonnax kit? Also, what else have you done to the tranny, and how is it holding up? I have had a SCMT for a couple of years and run it now and then, but it doesn't do anything for the tranny. I actually think it reduces line pressure and makes the tranny even more sloppy. I am currently in the market for a 6 pos. chip.

Thanks for the the help, and sorry for the long winded response.

E
