Superchip VIN Locked!!

Ok today i found a superchip programmer at a flea market for hardly anything so i bought it to see if it would work. plugged into my truck and it works perfect looks brand spankin new, but its VIN locked of course so i was wondering if superchips can unlock it so i can use it. Got the box (which is somewhat ruff) that it came in and the instruction book and all. thanks

Maybe if you give them a sob story and beg them, but I wouldn't count on it.

Re: Superchip VIN Locked!!

For almost as much as a new one they will reprogram it. They know that someone is probably still running that program. Don't waste your time and money just call Jody at DP-Tuner and get awesome programming.

Re: Superchip VIN Locked!!

Their solution will be "Buy a new one". I had my PCM fail several years ago with the SCMT tune on it. I called up SuperChips to ask them what could be done. I even had the paperwork from the PCM replacement, they didn't care.

Now in your case it's obvious that someone loaded the program onto their truck and figured they didn't need the tuner anymore. God help them if it goes to the dealer tuned.

Re: Superchip VIN Locked!!

Being "Vin Locked" could Jody still put any tunes on it? ( I belive he does that, puts tunes on some of the SCMTs,,not sure if they are special ones or not,,but what the hey,, the tunes would be better than the original ones I bet!!)

I do believe that Jody uses the SCT Xcal2 to put his tunes on.

I asked SuperChips about modifing a couple of things. Said they could but won't.

Re: Superchip VIN Locked!!

The reason why they want so much to program it is because they usually sell each of their tunes for a set price. So if you need to have all six positions reprogrammed you have to pay that price times six!

I bought a 16 position chip. I only bought three programs, so it cost about $380.
