Superchips Vivid Tuner

I am fairly new to the diesel world but know a little. I have a 2002 7.3 with 214,000 miles. Looking for some aftermarket parts so she'll sound and run a little better, nothing extreme as I use my truck for work and pull a 16' trailer with 2 diesel mowers on it 5 days a week. That being said I am going to Swamps diesel on my next day off to get a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust put on, I have been told it should sound good with this system but with the muffler turned backwards?? Also going to get a tuner and intake in the near future. As far as a tuner I have always run Superchips but open to others. Looking at their newest one the Vivid. Does anyone have the Superchips Vivid tuner?? Thanks in advance for any advice. Those are the only 3 things I plan to do to the truck. Exhaust, Intake, and tuner. Just trying to make sure i get the best for my money....

99% of the people on this board are going to tell you to get a selectable chip and a set of gauges. Then they will debate over a DP tuner chip or a TS based chip that can use tunes from different tuners. That should about cover it.

Thanks

Heard a lot of people talk about the cutom tunes but never had a truck set up that way. Will they hurt the life of the engine/tranny any more or less than Superchips??

no it should prolong it if anything, cleaner crisper shifts are better for the tranny than the slow smooth ones.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice. Went to Swamps last week. Got the MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust and their custom tuned 6 position chip. Awesome!! CAI is next.... Do want a scan tool though. Any opinions on which one is best??

Most complete is AutoEnginuity.

But I do like my Aeroforce gauge...or at least the concept. You can see pics and videos in my signature.
