Tranny temp gauge

Hi all, I just lost my tranny. $3k later it's a new bullit proof tranny by TRC. Love it! The person that installed it recomended that if I tow much, (very little) I should have a tranny temp gauge. I bought my PSD almost 3 years ago and on it came the EGT and Boost gauges on the A pillar, Banks brand.
My question here is....how hard is it to install a tranny temp gauge. I know I'd have to buy a tri-hole A pillar panel and the gauge I'm sure is physically easy to install, it's just the wires etc. Is there any procedures anyone has done here for the tranny temp install?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
Esson

Install is very easy. Go to
Gauge Installations at DieselManor- 1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke
for install instructions. Ignore most of those instructions for the other gauges, and worry only about the simple tranny temp gauge instructions.

If you have a two-gauge mount on the A-Pillar, one option is keep your current mount and add the new gauge in a mount that goes on the steering column. You can get it at any outfit that sells gauges and gauge mounts. Mine (and almost all others) is made by Autometer. You can see it at
Autometer Steering Column Gauge Mounts at DieselManor

But one important item. Banks pyrometers are often installed with the thermocouple in the downpipe - i.e., post-turbo. Not good. Awful, in fact. If that's what you have, move the thermocouple to the exhaust manifold on the driver's side. Crawl under the truck with your head under the oil filter and look up to where the exhaust manifold and the up pipe connect. Drill the manifold about an inch from the connection to the up pipe, then use the same clamp that was around the downpipe to clamp it into the manifold. Then with a pre-turbo pyrometer, use 1,250° pre-turbo EGT as your red line.

Or if your truck has a Banks downpipe with the welded-in bung for the post-turbo thermocouple, then plug that hole with a pipe plug, and drill and tap a new hole in the manifold. (It's very easy to drill and tap cast iron.)

One more option. The pyrometer is the most important gauge when towing in mountains, so I have my prometer on the steering column where it's easiest to see at a glance, and I have three other gauges on the A-Pillar.
