Brian custom-builds your tranny to your specs. My specs were:
[*] Bullet-proof tranny and torque converter that will outlast the engine.
[*] Engine is hot-rodded to about 300 horses and 600 torque, and is used 90 percent of the time towing an 8k 5er and grossing 16,000 to 17,500 pounds.

My bill was $3,750 out the door. Including the tranny and torque converter plus high Arkansas sales tax, a V-10 tranny cooler, new larger tranny pan, and Schaeffer's semi-synthetic ATF. That was June, 2004. Your bill might be higher if you have higher HP/torque, tow more, drag race or otherwise abuse the truck.

For as long as you own your BTS tranny ... 15 mos and stilling ing

If for whatever you have to replace your ride with a non BTS available tranny you will be in a constant state of mourning ... just ask Dennis Schroeder.

Re: transmission shop close to me in missouri.

Van,

I liked mine so well after 2 years use, the first time I was in Tulsa visiting relatives I made the 4 hour drive for upgrades. You will not be disapointed.

One of our members from Houston area traded his BTS to a friend(I think they did the swap in his driveway). Then sold his PSD with friends stock tranny. Now his friend has BTS grin.

I was there 7/14. They might move by 8/1, but don't count on that.

Re: transmission shop close to me in missouri.

talked to brian a little today 10min and we did not hash out exavtly what i was doing with truck but he quoted me 3800.00 plus 325.00 for the 6.0 cooler so prices have come up but maybe after we talk i may need less or more not sure. i guess i just never new how much they where i had the best of everthing in my pg in race car and did not spend this much. i have drag raced all my life and just bought this diesel and getting the itch to race it now, pull , whatever i can do but need trans to take the pwr i guess.

Re: transmission shop close to me in missouri.

What internal parts does Bryan replace/upgrade on the transmission? I know you get a Precision convertor, but that is only around $1,000, and I have sure he has some type of kit he uses in the valve body (trans-go?). If he uses the transgo you get the pump mods, but what else does he do. What brand of clutches does he use (alto reds?). I am just trying to figure up how much in parts a BTS has. I can assemble it with a friend.

Hopefully I'll get this right. Brian does not use a "kit". He uses some stock stuff such as tranny pans and the bypass, some as you call it "kits", but I've seen him not use all of one and "mix and match stuff" from various packages throwing the rest in the "trash". Finally, some of his parts are made and machined just for him and are not to my knowledge commerically available anywhere and some parts I think he sends out and has "hardened" based on his specs. Finally you have to remember that this is a master tranny builder at work building a tranny to your specs and useage and "exactly" what parts he uses and how he uses them is the "PIXIE DUST" in all this. Also, the care and knowledge that he takes in putting any tranny together is something that only comes from experience and knowledge that you and I can only dream about. When a tranny leaves his shop there is "ZERO" slop in it and that is a true key. I watched him putting the clutch packs together in mine and he would put a set together, feel it and then dump it all out and start over till it "FELT JUST RIGHT".

All you need to do is go there watch, listen and learn and when you leave you will realize what a custom tranny means and why every $ he charges is worth every penny. Every single person who has actually gone there and watched and had their ears open and willing to learn will tell you the exact same thing. It's sort of like have a heart surgeon do open heart surgery on a patient and then the minute they wake up saying "O.K. you're good to run the 100M dash".

[/ QUOTE ]But where will you be if/when it breaks. The stories of Brian's customer support are few but they demonstrate his commitment to his customers. I think the best example was sending a roll back to transport a broken truck from Colorado to Lead Hill, AK and then returning it with a new tranny. No charge.

Re: transmission shop close to me in missouri.

we have not got into the parts inside yet, ran out of time. i have a friend that works at ford and he just told me one from them was 3200-3600 and that is stock with no do what ya want warranty with it it. most transmissions prices built are the same unless you can do it yourself and have a lot of time to do it. my buddy has a ford lightning and he making over 600rwhp and has spent countless hours working on his trans as a do it your selfer and after two years of this and many pulls he is now finally getting it to hold the pwr. he is now replacing the parts with the diesel internals. i dont have two years to play with transmisions nor want to, just want to find someone who will stand behind there work if it breaks and not claim they have warranties they do not and so far bts seems to do just what im looking for. and they are fairly close, but i will keep ya posted with what happens.

You're starting to catch on ... Brian's warranty is "I DARE YOU TO BREAK IT" if so "I'LL FIX IT" and then "DOUBLE DARE YOU"

Re: transmission shop close to me in missouri.

I have the ATS tranny setup and went with the billet shafts so it was 1k extra but well worth it for pulling and beating on it like I do they are in colorado and offer a great warranty also. As for BTS larry is correct that brian doesn't use any kit it's all things that he has learned how to make these weak ford trannys hold together and from what I've been told he makes a lot of his own parts and the more difficult ones are sent out to be made but they are his very own designs. Both are a great product but I prefer the ATS due to the amount of internal upgrades and 3yr 100k warranty.
