Upgrading to 4" Exhaust, couple ?'s

I know upgrading the injectors require a few upgrades. If I put in a 4" exhaust, will I need any upgrades right away. I guessing not. Also I'm looking at this one. Comments please. Thanks

I second woodn. There's no need to change or upgrade anything.

Thanks guys. I figured but just making sure. I don't want to buy anything that I can't put on because I need more parts to use it.

I have the Diamond eye exhaust also but, with a flow through muffler. The turbo seems a lot happier now.It seems to spool up faster. The weird thing from inside the cab the truck isn't much louder. If I were you I'd spend a little extra and get the stainless system especially if you drive it in salt. I bought my system on ebay for $350 with tip and shipping.

Call these people Mighty Diesel - Diesel Performance Parts For Cummins , Powerstroke , Duramax And More I think I only paid $274.00 last year and it came with free shipping. I used the 4" Diamond Eye Aluminized with muffler. Real nice to work with.

with a muffler its more of a mellow 'exhaust' tone/drone but when you really get on it gets a bit raspy/cackly.. no muffler is just more raspy/cackly (kakeley, cackeley?? idk? lol).. pretty much all the time anything over 1/4 throttle.. My walker BTM eventually rusted off so i straight piped it, i like it better. But its almost too loud/obnoxious when i play around (expecially with my name and number on the side of the truck)

When you put the new turbo back exhaust, what does it require to remove for installation? Is it one piece? Does it just need weaseling the exhaust in there?

sawzal a few spots, take off the clamp on turbo and drop down. for install a hand is helpful to either hold the downpipe under the truck fo you can get the clamp on or vise versa, piece it together, a few clamps here and there (you can weld if you like) thats it

I removed my stock exhaust from my cc lb dually in 1 piece pretty easily. Sawzall might make things simpler but not necessary.

I run mbrp with freeflow muffler. I have heard nothing but good on diamond eye. Best of luck, it will be easier than you think.

May be to late, but get the muffler and pay the extra for the stainless. I have a muffled system and inside the truck sounds sounds stock, outside the neighbors can hear me coming at 700-800 yds. I am also looking at replacing mine after 6 or so years due to the pipe rotting through above the axle, and I mean rotting. There is no repairing this hole. The extra $60 or so would have saved some hassle now.
